Inclusion Finland KVTL automates professional fundraising with Salesforce
19.11.2025
Inclusion Finland KVTL is a human rights and non-governmental organization that advocates for the rights of people with developmental disabilities and their loved ones. As an umbrella organization, KVTL represents people who need help with understanding, learning, and everyday activities. KVTL’s membership consists of approximately 150 local associations, with approximately 13,000 members involved in their activities. In addition to membership fees, the activities are financed by grants and donations, so a clear system was needed to support the management of the activities.
When KVTL decided to start professional fundraising, they did not have such tools in use, and for example, the option for monthly donations was completely missing. The first step, therefore, was to acquire a system that would support and enable systematic fundraising activities.
Where did the system evaluation start from?
- The first criteria for the fundraising system was a CRM platform that could handle more than just fundraising
- E-invoicing and direct payment options for monthly donors were absolute requirements
- Flexible and customizable reporting, as well as data segmentation, played an important role
- Salesforce was a distant dream
Once their own criteria were clear, the search for a solution partner began. After seven meetings, it was concluded that three systems met the basic requirements. The decision to choose Salesforce was ultimately based on the received proposals, prior experience with Salesforce, and the platform’s ability to support future needs. Salesforce’s scalability and flexibility convinced KVTL that it was the right system choice.
The concrete reasons behind the system selection included:
- Flexibility:
a. The ability to adapt to changing and growing needs over time
b. A donation form not tied directly to the CRM
c. Starting with a lighter data processing setup and later expanding to handle more data - A fundraising tool that enables a smooth donor experience and the best ROI
- Pricing model: The Power of Us program
Ceili was selected as the Salesforce partner. The decision was influenced by factors such as:
- Active listening and understanding of the client’s needs
- Awareness and acceptance of financial constraints – “We can build when there’s budget.”
- The quality of discussions
- Experience and references
- Price
What did KVTL’s Salesforce implementation project include, and what benefits does the system offer?
KVTL implemented the Nonprofit Cloud together with Ceili, and the experience has been highly positive:
“No more messing around with data – duplicates are easy to spot. With e-invoicing, appeal conversion results have doubled, and there’s no extra work for the finance team. At a glance, you can see everything about a donor. Basic reporting is solid, and it can be further developed and expanded.”

What processes does KVTL manage with Salesforce?
KVTL’s Salesforce platform processes and stores the following types of data:
- Appeal form submissions
- Email address, phone number, and name details
- Text message donations
- Phone number
- MobilePay donations
- Phone number and mame details
- Donation platform data (per donation)
- Phone number and address information
- Monthly donations
- Invoicing information
- Appeal form submissions
Email and social media marketing are managed based on the collected data, while complying with marketing restrictions and GDPR requirements. One-time donors, monthly donors, and the general audience can be easily distinguished from one another, allowing marketing efforts to be targeted accordingly. Monthly donation invoicing works automatically from Salesforce.
For KVTL, Salesforce will be a system that can:
- Segment efficiently
- Personalize donation requests based on donor history
- Use the most suitable channel for each donor
- Predict monthly donors at risk of cancellation
- Ask for an additional donation or an upgrade at exactly the right moment
And it does all this automatically!
How did the collaboration with Ceili go?
”Co-operation with Ceili was smooth all the way from the proposal process to end of the project, and even beyond with available support. Ceili’s experience with non-profits was great benefit in building effective, tomorrow’s system. Ceili solved any challenges that came across the way and quickly delivered exactly what they promised in agreed timeline – a true achievement for this size investment for a nonprofit organization where funds to invest are very limited."
– Outi Jokilehto, Fundraising Manager, Inclusion Finland KVTL
”The project progressed calmly and efficiently, staying on schedule from the very beginning through to implementation. Working with Outi was effortless from day one, and together we were able to dynamically define the key requirements and functionalities. It was especially rewarding to build a modern system for KVTL that boosts their fundraising efforts and, in doing so, makes their daily work easier and more efficient.”
